I didn't think I could use the 8.0 RPM on my 7.2 (actually RHES) system,
but I can certainly hack the logrotate scripts.

(Note that the version numbers of my two RPMs are the same except for the
Red Hat release designator.  I was quite surprised to find that the script
files differed.)

I'm not at the moment either, but it does look from the Bugzilla reference
in that thread as though the problem of "kill -HUP" resetting binary logs
has been fixed.
