I'm sending this email because I've spent countless hours trying to figure out why the .htaccess on my webserver doesn't do anything at all. I've read some tutorials and howtos on how to get password protection on different parts of my website. I'm emailing you to find out if there is a problem with my configuration or if this is a known bug. I have Apache 2.0.40 installed from Redhat 9.0 with all the default settings, If you have any ideas of what I could do next to resolve this problem I would greatly appreciate it.
