I don't really see why there would be a difference, but I am
looking on RH8.0.

I only have xinetd listening on tcp ports and they're all ones
that I can account for (telnet, ftp, printer and netbackup).

Check "chkconfig --list | grep on" and see if there's anything
unaccounted for down with xinetd stuff.
