No. They're quite different filesystems for use on linux. Both offer
journaling as a feature, which is good to use. ext3 is the default for
RedHat, but you can manually create and mount jfs partitions if you
like. You'd need to install the jfs-utils package first if you want to
use jfs. Do a google search for the words "linux journaling filesystems"
and read the links that come up for more information.
