This is a bit odd. Out of the clear blue on my RH 5.0 system FTP transfers of500K
or more seems to have stopped working. I'm not entirely sure what the threshold size
is, but I can download files of 100K in size or less. This just happened "all of the
sudden". For some reason, I am able to use my web browser just fine and telnet to my
shell account. The particular file in question that tipped me off was a RPM of inform
from any site containing a RedHat contrib directory. I have tried changing the line
speed through the control-panel to no avail. I am sure it isn't the ISP since I can
FTP the file from my shell account. Getting it to my home machine, it gets about 10K
through the 500K or so file then stalls. Attempting to download the same file through
Netscape results in identicalbehaviour. NCFTP will abort the connection after 10k
worth of download. I ahvetried other files bigger than 500k as well to the same
effect.
Any ideas out there? Hardware maybe?
Thanks in advance.
