This fixed it for me: rpm -ivh kdetoys-3.1-3.src.rpm cd /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/ tar jxvf kdetoys-3.1.tar.bz2 cd kdetoys-3.1 ./configure -prefix=/usr make cd kweather make install
Note that installing from the source using the rpm spec file does not fix the problem. What is amazing that everyone of my many Redhat 9 systems has the same problem... kweather does not work. Does it work for anyone out of the box? I also tried cleaning KDE & GNOME config files and different users. Oh well. Thanks for the suggestion. I found the site you mentioned early on in my search, but I think development on this is going on elsewhere. I will continue looking. I mean do you have your old KDE settings from a previous version of RH? If so, I would suggest that you try to run kweather as another freshly created user. If it works that way, then you might want to consider removing your old KDE settings (deleting your ~/.kde directory). kweather project home page is at http://sourceforge.net/projects/kweather/ There is an RPM there too. You might want to try it out. Or maybe contact the developers about your problem.
