The upgrade for commercial software like rvplayer requires you to
have the previous rpm (from the CD) in order to "unmask" the update.

The previous rpm has a very similar name to the update. It's a single
file on the CD that probably (I don't have CD or rvplayer) looks
like
        rvplayer-...-i386.rpm
where "..." represents the version and release number.
