Hello Exverybody,

I am running REDHAT linux 8 (linux 2.4.18-14) on Intel
i686 platfrom.

The root partition is on the IDE disk from which is
getting booted. Now I want to connect a SCSI disk on
this system. But when I connect the SCSI disk, the
system fails giving the kernel panic message that it
was not able find the init level, use init=option.

Without connecting this SCSI disk, system works fine
without any error.

Pls note that the ADAPTEC AIC 7892B U160/m SCSI card
is working fine and it is showing normal behaviour.

Pls suggest me some solution so that I can connect the
disk that is having important data on it. The disk is
having FAT partiotion.

Thanks to all in advance.

Rgds
