Sorry RedHat List.. I send two message by error
I found the solution soon.. and want to share with RHL

Delete the old rpm database under /var/lib/rpm

rm -rf __db* (that is 2 _'s)
There are rpm database problems with both rpm packages installed in rh 9
and rh 8.0. Removing these databases will cause apt not to hang.

That work for me... I rename the __db.001 _db.002 __db.003 to
__db.001.bak .... and rpm came back to life!

;)

Subject: rpm --rebuilddb hang .. HELP!

Suddenly rpm start to hang and never work anymore!

# rpm -vv --rebuilddb
D: rebuilding database /var/lib/rpm into /var/lib/rpmrebuilddb.14731
D: creating directory /var/lib/rpmrebuilddb.14731
D: opening old database with dbapi 3
D: opening db environment /var/lib/rpm/Packages joinenv
D: opening db index /var/lib/rpm/Packages rdonly mode=0x0

And nothing happened....
I have to kill the process to come back.
Ctrl-c doesn't work either.

What's going on? How can I fix it?

More info: First time it hang I was running rpm -ivh
