My guess (and I'm no video expert) is that you need a driver
for your video card.  I have an NVidia GeForce2, and before
I got the right driver from NVidia's website, I was seeing
Tux Racer very slow like you.  Once you have the right driver
installed, I think you'll see the difference - mine runs
at regular speed now, just like other games ;-)
