Is there a way to zero out the information you get when you preform an ifconfig without rebooting the machine? I need to clear out the collisions and other errors to see if trouble shooting I'm doing is working.
Will "service network restart" do it?
Have you read the man page for ifconfig to see if any of its parameters will do what you want? I think it's in there somewhere.
