Troublesome is one thing, but wait until you meet the mailing list! Most hostile, arrogant, unbelievably intolerant group of people I've seen since soc.racism. Overall, not a pleasant package to work with, and anything you want to change requires patching the source and recompiling, which for some reason (penile insecurity, perhaps?) they seem to be proud of.

I actually found qmail quite easy to install. Dave Sill's LWQ HOWTO is straight forward, and easy...hell, he gives you command for command, and explains just about every problem you can run into (as well as how to fix it). With that being said, I have to agree that the qmail mailing list is by far the rudest, self-centered, egotistical, bunch of jerks I've seen. Lord forbid you ask a question that someone asked a year ago.
