Can someone lead me to where I can go to for info to understand better how playing sounds under RH7.2/Gnome works?
I'm a bit confused by things I can't see: When I'm in the file browser, I can hover my mouse pointer over an audio file. I then hear the sound play through the speakers. If I double-click the file, it plays the whole file. But there is no window that pops up where I can control the playing of the file (stopping, pausing, volume, etc.).
If I double-click on another file, a second file plays *concurrently*. So I've got two audio files playing at once, making a cacophonous mess. I can't figure out any way to stop either of them from playing.
I gather that this is happening seperate from my XMMS player, because the files are playing completely independent from any XMMS controls.
TIA.
