Thanks to all those that offered help. I'd like to offer my experience with this should anyone else have to deal with it. Assuming you have a good install of RH, and you then install a Windoze OS AFTER the RH install. In my case it was a Toshiba laptop that was only supported by XP if XP was installed clean.
In short: 1: Boot from a bootdisk or CD and type: linux rescue to get into rescue mode. 2: Have RH search for your linux install and mount it at /mnt/syslinux 3: When you get into the shell, chroot /mnt/syslinux this gets you to your linux install on the HDD 4: type the following command (assuming a single hard drive with both OS's installed) 'grub-install /dev/hda'. This runs the install script that installs grub in the MBR again and searches for boot partitions, etc. In this case, it already had a grub.conf file to work from. Reboot and grub should come up the OS list. I hope this helps sort that out. I'd be happy to answer any questions regarding this. And thank God I can boot to RH again.
