Yes, you can get out of RH network and add any repository aptable. So, for 
example, I have the latest stable postfix which I get from the site of 
the postfix rpm maintainer (Simmon Mudd). This is just an example. In the 
apt.freshrpms.net are lots of stuff that doesn't come with the official 
RH release.
