There once was a mythical mall security guard who was ordered to crack
down on pick-pockets. Whereupon he spied an unsavory character walk up
behind one lady after another, and deftly remove the cash from their
purses'... And said he to himself, I'm supposed to stop "pick-POCKETS"
not "pick-PURSES" thus he did nothing...

The fact that an anti-virus software program is called anti-virus doesn't
mean it shouldn't try to catch the worms, and trojans too.

Can I please generalize all such malicious code as mal-ware?

Does anyone know if Mr Weiss was correct (in the broader sense) That
F-prot only scanned for M$ mal-ware? Or does it not also try to find
mal-ware that can wreak havoc on linux boxes as well. I'm by no means
expert enough to know for sure if I made the right decision when I
installed the linux version of F-prot on my PC But I'd like to think
that it, at least tries to protect my linux from mal-ware...

But if anyone knows how good it is at it, please do tell!
