Mark,   I am a newbie to Linux so please excuse me. I checked in my etc directory and saw vsftpd.conf, vsftpd.ftpusers, vsftpd.user_list.   Do I need to do anything to those files? Can I use gFTP 2.0.13 to receive a file?
