Hi,
I run windows 98 on a Compaq Presario and RH8 on my
HP Vectra vl). I
connect to the internet via verizon dsl, through a Netgear router. Both the win98 machine and the RH8 machine get IP addresses through that router. I recently had my win98 machine rebuilt due to errors with it and noticed it had a different IP address from before. Do I need to change any host files? If so, what are they? On the win98 machine, the only things I did was under network neighborhood, properties, added allow file and printer sharing for microsoft networks to network components installed. The other was to put a share on the printer used with share being the printer name with NO password. When I do try to print I receive the following
error message:
When I try to print I get the following error
message:
A print error occured. Error message received from system: /usr/bin/lpr -P 'Network_Printer' '/tmp/kde-root/kdeprint_E5r7idT' : execution failed with message: Status Information: sending job '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' to [EMAIL PROTECTED] connecting to 'localhost', attempt 1 cannot open connection to localhost - Connection refused Make sure the remote host supports the LPD protocol Do I need to do anything else? Any help is greatly appreciated. |
