I have a similar setup running rh 9, and have had no problems. Do you have the following line in your /etc/yp.conf
domain asustech.com server 10.0.0.3 where asustech.com is the name of your NISDOMAIN, and 10.0.0.3 is the NIS server. If your using a hostname instead of an IP are you resolving it in /etc/hosts? What position is the service ypbind starting up in the rc config /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S25ypbind, /etc/rc.d/rc5.d/S25ypbind? These are my values. Hopefully they start after network is started. Try this and let us know. corey osman CCNA, MCP, A+, Net+ Microsoft my own 95% of the boat, but Apple controls the rudder! ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
