I have had great success with Postfix after Sendmail drove me to Valium. I subsequently compiled with SASL support and the spam filtering is spectacular. My suggestion is to forget the RPM and compile the latest release (2.0.13) yourself. For most users it's as simple as ./make ./make install. The author of Postfix hangs out in the mail list. Most questions are answered within an hour.
