kernel 2.4.21 cd ripping

My 48X cd using ide-scsi emulation works fine,

The kernel stops with the Caps lock and Scroll lock blinking if I try to 
rip a cd using the Memorex 52X cd rom.

I have both the 48X and 52X cd's using ide-scsi emulation.

So part of the ide-scsi problem has been fixed with the 2.4.21 kernel.
