I'm trying to build a PVR out of some older hardware with some measure of success. I'm running RedHat 9 and have the console working just fine on my T.V. When I run startx I get a blank screen however on my monitor I see my GUI come up just fine.
I've been working with my XF86Config file. Trying to find the correct display settings has been a trial. ATI has pointed me to several web sites including the gatos project for help. I've been unsuccessful with any of their drivers. I've read through documentation for Nvidia's cards and they suggest I need a CRT setting in my XF86Config. I've tried working with their settings on my ATI card hoping to stumble on a solution. No dice. Has anyone been able to make this work? Any ATI cards with composite ports that is? I'm sure if someone could point me in the right direction I'd be able to make this work. Presuming of course that it will work at all :D I'm considering a purchase of another video card (Nvidia of course) however I would prefer a solution with this card if at all possible.
