Hmm..I don't use a DNS, because I use samba on a small local network composed of 10-20 computers all using private ip addresses. I've added their IP's to /etc/hosts..in order to make lisa show names instead of addresses like 192.168.0.X . I've also used KDE control center tool to configure lisa . (I've also tried configuring lisa by hand..as I found it easier to control every aspect of this piece of software).
I've tried everything you said..and still lisa won't show the other computers' shares (I mean those are windows shares..and I was hoping to see them under lan://localhost/192.168.40.101/SMB or something like that..instead the SMB directory contains nothing. P.S. I'm a newbie in working with KDE (or any other graphical interface)...all this time I've been working only in text mode. Can you give me a link for those rawhide packages ? Are they part of redhat ? As I've seen on www.rpmfind.net that they belong to another linux distribution. Any ideas ? >You could check your DNS.
