So, I decide to try something *way* more lightweight than KDE. IceWM runs rings around KDE, and everything - even (dog of a dog!) OpenOffice.org comes up in about half the time.
But: problem 1: far too frequently, I've got mozilla up, click on a link, and another window pops up...and mozilla's hosed. I have to killall. Any clues? problem 2: I d/l IceWMControlPanel (icepref)(2.0-1.noarch.rpm). Both of them are written in python. *Both* of them die, immediately, with Traceback (most recent call last): File "./icepref.py", line 36, in ? from gtk import * ImportError: No module named gtk I've tried changing that to pygtk, pyGTK, and pygtk2. Rpm tells me that I have installed: pygtk-devel-0.6.9-3 pygtk-libglade-0.6.9-3 rep-gtk-0.15-7 gtk+-1.2.10-15 gtk2-2.0.2-4 pygtk2-1.99.8-7 pygtk-0.6.9-3 pygtk2-libglade-1.99.8-7 pygnome-gtkhtml-1.4.2-3 Again, any clues as to why python can't find gtk? mark -- Sen.
