I have duplicated Win2K and dual boot Win2K/Linux systems without problems where the new disk was used in it's entirety in another computer, but there are some things in the back of my mind (it's been a while) that have to be taken into consideration; Win2k "remembers" the logical drive designation of its system partition and will choke during boot up if it isn't correct. I think if you google around you'll run into some comentary about this. Another consideration, if I remember correctly, is the SID (system descriptor??) if you're going to use the new drive in another computer in a network environment.
