Just installed Redhat 9 with the associated packages. I note that the PHP is
4.2.2 and I was interested in taking that to 4.3.2

downloaded a php distribution and tried to configure it but can't get the
apxs -

configure gave:

"Sorry, I cannot run apxs. Possible reasons follow:

1. Perl is not installed
2. apxs was not found. Try to pass the path using --with-apxs2=/path/to/apxs
3. Apache was not built using --enable-so (the apxs usage page is displayed)

The output of /usr/sbin/apxs follows:
./configure: line 5032: /usr/sbin/apxs: No such file or directory
configure: error: Aborting"

I did a :

[EMAIL PROTECTED] php-4.3.2]# locate apxs
-and not found -

How do I compile PHP 4.3.2 so that it will work ok on the system - do I
simply leave out the apxs (I note that the phpinfo that i can run against
the current installed system shows with_apxs2 - see below - but I cant use
that in my configure)

any help really appreciated

Jim
