With the current lawsuit by SCO, some companies are erring on the side of caution. Once the litigation is over and if Linux stays unscathed, it probably will return with a vengeance. Notice, I did say "if" Linux stays unscathed. You never know what will happen in courts. I had read an article where a burglar broke into a house and got himself locked in the garage with only a case of warm pepsi and dog food to eat while the family was on vacation. He sued and won because of his inhumane treatment. Lets not forget the lady who spilled hot coffee and sued McDonald's. While we all see this as an act of desperation by SCO, given our court system, they could just win. So these companies are hedging their bets.
