My sound card is an YAMAHA ISA sound card. When i was using Linux RH7.1/RH7.2 or Mandrake 9.0 it was autmetically detected by linux but now i am getting prob.
In my windows 98SE i got the following info about my sound card Yamaha OPL-3x >> resource i/o range 0220-022F i/o range 0530-0537 i/o range 0388-0388 i/o range 0330-0331 i/o range 0370-0371 irq 05 DMA 00 DMA 01
I am using RH7.3 at this moment. And facing the following problem with my sound card. While hardware detection it seemed to be ok.. in recogninzing my sound card...
But at startup x-windows: I got the following message:
"Error while initializing the sound driver device /dev/dsp can't be opened (no such device) the sound server will continue using the null output device."
when i tried with my hardware browser i got.
harware browser "OPL3-Sax sound board unknown Manufacturer unknown Driver ns558 Device N/A"
when i run sndconfig: i got the following message "An error occurred opening /dev/audio"
Pls let me know what should i do now... To get my linux to talk to me... :| Thanks in advance.
