Just tried it and no change.
Here's all the places I put it.
Lilo.conf:
vga=791
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
message=/boot/message
linear
default=newlinux

image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.2-2
        label=linux
        read-only
        root=/dev/hda5
        vga=791
image=/boot/newkernel
        label=newlinux
        read-only
        root=/dev/hda5
        vga=791

What about those of us who use a bootdisk? I don't use either LILO or 
GRUB. Should I just edit one of the files on my bootdisk?
