Hi Folks
System:
PIII(Celron) with 640Meg of memory
RedHat 8.0

Problem description:
When fdisk or sfdisk a scsi drive the drive does not hold the partition configuration (I am doing write after each partation ). The problem occured after the computer powered of while in the middle of disk partitioning.

example:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] fdisk /dev/sdf
Device contains neither a valid DOS partition table, nor Sun, SGI or OSF disklabel
Building a new DOS disklabel. Changes will remain in memory only,
until you decide to write them. After that, of course, the previous
content won't be recoverable.

The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 2047. There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024, and could in certain setups cause problems with: 1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO) 2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs (e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK)

Command (m for help):

the problem disk are:
        Vendor = COMPAQ
        Product = ST32550N
        Version = 6317

    Vendor = SEAGATE
        Product = ST32550N
        Version = 0016

I am using aha152x interface.

I would like to find a way to fix those disks, so they will be usable in linux. Low level format did not find any problem with the disks.
