Something I learnt a long time ago: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I would stay with what you know. Yes, 7.2 will not be supported by RH much longer, but there is still the community and the mailing lists. Unless there is a package or patch that you really do need that won't run on 7.2, I wouldn't upgrade. Just my 2p.
