I use gnome 2.0, but i would like to install kde 3.1. I found it on a
cdrom , there were 18 tarfiles, i have used command tar to extract those
files into /tmp directory.. now when i access from console the main
package (which should be kde-i18n-3.1) and execute ./configure i get an
error msg saying :

checking for dcopidl... not found
configure: error: The important program dcopidl was not found!
Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.

So i tried compiling other packages first but with result:

checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check
your installation and add the correct paths!

Where I'm wrong?

Thanks

Antonio

PS how can i use comman cd to go back to the above directory?
