The problem with these solutions are that the command will be run
_each_ time the user starts an xterm or something similar.

For the X-environment, I have such commands placed in ~/.Xclients, but
there I also start my window manager, so if you use the common
kde/gnome setup, this is not the way.

I would guess that kde/gnome have some way to do this.
