1. Whenever you buy a new disk so you have 160 GB, you can easily
increase any file system.

2. Whenever you want to reinstall, you can scratch / and /usr, while
you keep the /home and /usr/local and /var.

3. In case of diskcrash you might still be able to save some of your
data.

4. Playing around with LVM is cooler...
