Hi,

I have a Red Hat 8 server exporting NFS filesystems.
When I shutdown the server (to halt or reboot) it
hangs on the part where it has to shutdown NFS
services.

Nothing I do will get it out of this part without a
cold power off (which then means a check of the disks
on boot and recovery from journal).

Of course if I remove the mounts from other servers
mounting those filesystems first, the NFS server shuts
down cleanly for a reboot without a problem.

Sometimes it's very impractible (and sometimes I
forget) to dismount all exported volumes before
shutting down the NFS server.

What can I do to "fix" this?

Thanks.

Michael.
