Can someone recommend a good antivirus software and a good intrusion detection software for RH 8.0?

i'm not sure about what the "best" package for antivirus would be (you need it for mail or ???), but as far as open source IDS is concerned, you should look into prelude, snort, or shadow. snort especially has alot of support from the user community as well as the author (martin roesche) being involved in the forum.
