Hi there,

When I tried to run a rpm --rebuild to rebuild the database. It seems
like it just hangs and doing anything. I am suspecting a corrupt database.
When I use the package program under X, it hangs at the point of looking at
the headers. Now the rpm cron jobs are backup up:

root 1388 1259 0 Mar13 tty2 00:00:00
/usr/lib/rpm/rpmd --rebuilddb
root 3749 3471 0 04:02 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh /etc/cron.daily/rpm
root 3751 3749 0 04:02 ? 00:00:00
/usr/lib/rpm/rpmq -q --all --qf

The command rpm -qa and rpm -qf seems fine. The problem occured when someone
accidentally delete a directory contained some
installed RPM packages. I try to rpm -e package-names. I killed that
process because it was taking too long. Anyone know what may
be the problem and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.
