I just installed Netscape 7.02 for Linux. I created a new directory for it,
since I like keeping the older versions, like 4 and 6, on my drive. I
installed as root on my Redhat 6.2 machine and then ran ./netscape from
within the directory I installed it as root. It came up just fine. Then I
changed to my regular user account, went into the directory, ran ./netscape
and came up with an older version of Netscape I have, Netscape 6.1! I've
looked through my bash shell scripts in my home directory and can't find the
problem. Why is it that when I run ./netscape from within the
/usr/local/netscape-7.02 directory as root, I load 7.02, but when I run the
same command from within that directory as my regular user account, I get
Netscape 6.1? Any help appreciated. Please email replies, too.
