Dear all,
I am sorry that I am very new to linux and RedHat.
Days before, I would use the option "open" to install RPMs on my RedHat 8.0 Personal. Starting from yesterday, when I opened the RPMs, the installer would come up as normal, telling me the installer was processing the header. However, within 10 seconds, the installer would disappear suddenly, without any error messages.
Those RPMs I tried to install could be installed without problems on other RedHat 8.0 machines, therefore I don't think those RPMs have problems, as examples, they are RealPlayer and Flash plug-in, downloaded from respective vendors' websites.
I tried to perform RHN updates, those RedHat updates could be installed properly.
I would like to know how I can fix this problem, or how I could have more information on solving this problem. How I could troubleshoot the RPM installer? Is there any log file available? If yes, how could I trace the problem?
Once again, I am sorry that my questions maybe very elementary and not mature, but I am really a new user trying to use RedHat Linux.
Thanks for your attention, and kindest help.
