Two questions on Red Hat Linux 6.2

Hi All, I've been fiddling with .bash_profile and after I logged in to system after a logout I can see only a "bash$" instead of [EMAIL PROTECTED] . I'd appreciate if any of you gurus can tell me what could be the reason for this occurance. The other question is how can we chance the Line mode of the NIC card to half duplex/full duplex and Line speed to 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps.   Your replies will be greatly appreciated.   Thanks,   Peram
