Is it common for ethereal to report a checksum error on a lot of
packets? I have been pouring over a dump of a MS access transaction from
an XP box with the data on a samba server. about a third of the 120,000
packets get a checksum (0x0000) errors ( all these packets originate
from the XP box) but I can't see any additional traffic that indicates
the tcpip stack had a problem. No duplicate packets or acks that
indicate anything other than success. The complaint is that the
transaction is way slow on XP but was very quick on 98. I have yet to
receive a dump of 98 trying the same transaction for comparison.

I also see a lot of checksum errors for other packets from the XP box
but haven't figured out a filter for a bad checksum yet.

Anyone have any tips?
