the version of x-cdroast that is shipped with RedHat does not support the non-root mode.
see the news on www.xcdroast.org
You have to download xcdroast from the official homepage.

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi List, is it possible to run xcdroast in nonroot mode on psyche? I followed the instructions in /usr/share/doc/xcdroast-0.98a9/README.nonroot but whenever I try to start xcdroast as a nonroot user it asks me for the root password and than starts up in the root mode. I hope you can help me, as I was not able to find anything about that in this list archive (just some notes about an older version of GTK, which should not apply to the xcdroast-version shipped with psyche). Thanks a lot for your help, Benne -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (Darwin) iD8DBQE+YR7mR5U9XkJXZKwRAj1uAJwL77Wsjs6blYYLzZubRoSSt6tm6QCfaJ+b p1x/4XEWhNwS3AQeuUW8RSs= =MdWA -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
