It's actually on a Solaris box.  I know this is a Red Hat list but I thought
someone here might have seen this before.

We noticed it because we had about 6GB of traffic a few nights ago.

Hi Joel, how did you happen to notice that you traffic on that port ?
What version of redhat are you running ?
Is IRC configured in your xinet.d files ?
