All those programs are fine, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be able to see all the traffic. That depends if your machines are connected via a switch or hub. I'm not a networking expert, but I think with a switch, you'll only see traffic directed to your own machine and probably broadcast traffic.


if you're on a switched network, make sure your monitoring machine is connected to a "monitor/service/SPAN" port, otherwise you will not be able to see the traffic. you could try arp poison and use tool like ettercap to watch the traffic otherwise. email me if you have any need more specific details ;)
