is just a hint, but I had to look for the solution almost a day. In the version which comes with RH8 your php tag has to look like: <?php so you have to put php behind the tag. You can change this behavior in the php.ini. I hope this helps...

I did reinstall my RH8.0 server few times but it just wont work like what I did for RH7.3. For me it's really hard to believe that no additional configuration is required in order to make php work on RH8.0.
My RH8.0 is the ftp verion downloaded from internet.
