type lsmod and check whether eepro100 is still loaded cox. the module u have
to use is e100. the best way to do it is
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network stop
rmmod eepro100
insmod -k e100
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network start

try and let me know, just in case find out whether u r getting ne crc error
if crc error is there then try replacing the cable
