I have noticed something odd about the program bar in the RedHat 8.0 GUI
interface. Every once in a while when I boot the machine up the rhn applet
(the round !) turns into a vertical line (width = 1). Upon one or two
reboots it comes back. Just recently I was moving the machine from one ip
network to another and the applet & the time display disappeared. Also, now
when I minimize an application it drops to the bar but off the screen to the
right and I can't get it back.

I was able to duplicate the rhn going to a vertical line problem on a
machine at my 033 RedHat class but the instructor had no idea what had
caused it.

This only happens to the one user that it occurred in. i.e. if I log in as
some one else it is fine.

I use a relatively high resolution (11xx X 7xx).

It is most perplexing. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know
how to reset it.

I have manually re-added the rhn & time to the bar but still cannot fix the
minimize issue.

Thanks in advance

Terry
