By all rights all the things you listed should make it work.

The link lights are definately on on all connected points?

For the sake of sanity, you wanna run 'service ipchains stop' and 'service
iptables stop' for me?

It has caught me out before and may sound like a stupid suggestion, but I
don't care.

yeah, by all rights, "It Should Work". It's all there.
Yes, the link lights are all on.
I've run "service iptables stop"

and I've turned on ip_forwarding.

The silly thing SHOULD work. But it doesn't.

This is #2 for me of things that should work but don't. I'm battling another issue with LDAP.. But let's not get into that.

I've missed something either very basic, or very obscure.
I just can't for the life of me spot it.

This one is frustrating.
