I could switch users before.  Still can.  But that's exactly what this 
exercise was intended to avoid.  Having to log out-and-in of the root 
account in order to access restricted directories and actions.  

As an example:
In W2k, one can create users that belong to the highest level GROUP, 
Administrator, aside from the default Administrator ACCOUNT.  

In the end, I seem to have achieved this.  But in the process, I've 
lost access to my CDROM, and as it turns out, the floppy as well.
