Just tried this very thing out, and it worked. I suspect that Linux or 
sol28 don't know about each other by hostname.  Try it with ip addresses 
to test.


Of course, if you had ssh installed on the Sun host this would be a 
trivial problem using x-forwarding.  Checkout www.sunfreeware.com for pkg 
format downloads.
